CMiC Connect 2025: The Year Construction Got Serious About AI

If one theme stood out at CMiC Connect 2025, it was this: construction isn’t just talking about AI anymore; it’s using it. 

In Palm Springs, surrounded by CMiC customers, partners, and innovators, the energy was unmistakable. This wasn’t a tech conference full of just fluff or hype. It was a gathering of people who know their processes inside and out and are now asking the right question: How can AI help us work smarter, not just faster? 

That shift was palpable in every conversation. From accounts payable teams to IT directors, everyone we met could clearly describe their pain points—manual data entry, disconnected systems, time lost to paper and PDFs—and they were ready to change it. Many wanted to even move beyond just automating invoices to tackling other document-heavy processes like W9’s, certificate of insurance docs, jobsite forms, and compliance documentation. 

As CMiC’s recommended intelligent document capture partner, Image Access was proud to be part of that conversation. Our platform, ImageTrust, is already helping CMiC users simplify document intake and automate accounts payable. But what stood out most this year was the growing curiosity about what else is possible. 

And with CMiC’s announcement of NEXUS, the first AI-powered construction ERP platform, the “what’s next” became clearer. Built-in intelligence, contextual automation, and predictive analytics are no longer distant goals. They’re here. For Image Access, that’s incredibly exciting. Soon, ImageTrust will be able to leverage CMiC’s new “AL” AI framework directly—alongside our existing integrations with Google, Microsoft Azure, AWS, OpenAI, and others—to unlock even smarter document classification and data extraction capabilities. 

Ultimately, CMiC Connect reinforced something that’s easy to forget in the rush toward new technology: it’s the people behind the tools that make transformation real. The CMiC community remains one of the most collaborative, curious, and forward-thinking groups in the industry, and we’re grateful to grow alongside it.
